A Top Gun Wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Hill!

This was an extra special wedding we did because it was for my youngest sister in law! She finally got to marry her Navy pilot and I literally cry at strangers weddings so of course I bawled my eyes out when she walked down the aisle!

Navy & Yellow are the main colors for the US Navy and also happened to be some of Melodie’s favorite, how perfect! We used some of her favorite flowers like Daisies, Goldenrod, and adorable little Billy Balls to bring in that true yellow and then used complimentary white flowers for contrast and a subtle blush for depth. I picked my two favorite wedding roses: Playa Blancas and Quicksand. Those Roses mixed with locally grown blush Lisianthus made her bouquet and all florals, breathtakingly romantic.

The navy came in via ribbons and bridesmaid dresses.

We did two different types of centerpieces for their reception, a lush compote and a gold vase. The flowers looked perfect and cohesive with the navy poly napkin on the table.

For Colin & Melodie’s sweetheart table she told me to do whatever I want! I was thankful for how much she trusted me and just let me “do my thang” but she also did such a great job giving direction in her florals and colorway. I wanted to go big! We made a huge standing spray for their sweetheart table and it looked gorgeous all night long.

After dancing all night to Danger Zone and watching them have their first dance to Take My Breath Away my husband (her brother) and I went home feeling so happy for our younger sister and excited for their marriage and life ahead. The best is yet to come! And yes… we did fall asleep to Top Gun.
